Chief Investment Officer – West Yorkshire Pension Fund

Salary: Competitive

**This role has been appointed to. Please do get in touch with us if you are looking for a similar senior role.**

Overall

The West Yorkshire Pension Fund is a highly regarded LGPS, with £18bn of invested funds, one of the biggest funds within the LGPS.  We have an enviable track record of successful investment growth.  This is a rare role leading the investment strategy and delivery in a successful, forward-looking, stable and national profile pension fund.

Operating on behalf of the five West Yorkshire councils and hosted by Bradford Council, the WYPF has 433 employers within it, and over 300k members. We’re part of the Northern Pool for pension investments, a total of £57bn of invested funds.  Unlike other local government pension scheme funds, WYPF makes most of our £18bn investments directly.  We have some of the lowest administrative and investment costs amongst the Local Government Pension Scheme, whilst still delivering consistently good returns.  We are seen as influential leaders in the market.

With low administrative costs combined with good quality services, we’ve succeeded in growing the number of other Pension Funds administered. These now include 22 Fire Authorities, the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Barnet, and Lincolnshire CC. This means a total administrative membership of around 500k members and more than 800 different employers.  Further details of our investments can be found here.

Having recently appointed a new Managing Director, we’re looking for a new Chief Investment Officer to lead our investment strategy and delivery, overseeing our investment team, add to our strategic leadership and ensure essential long-term returns.

All information about the role can be found on the TeamBradford senior management recruitment website (Bradford Council are the host Council for the Fund). There you will be able to download the Job Profile and read more about the Fund and relevant background.
